Visiting Coach

Lydia Hinshaw
This summer we are proud to present and honored to feature  a wonderful opportunity for our students to study under visiting coach Lydia Hinshaw.

Lydia was one of our HCEC students and trainers who continued with competitive riding at Auburn University.  In 1997 at age 7 she started in our riding academy and continued with us 12 years.  Then at Auburn she was a featured athlete on the Equestrian Team from August 2009 - May 2012.

Some of her Equestrian Honors:
She was a member of the 2011 NCAA Overall Varsity Equestrian Championship Team, and the 2010 and 2011 SEC Championship Teams.  She earned the Jessica Braswell Workhorse Award, and was also presented the Auburn Top Tiger Award 3 years in a row.  All this while being an Honors student and now graduated Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, May 2013.

Not surprising to us, she was selected as the first ever rising sophomore to coach Auburn's Equestrian summer camps, becoming head counselor and assistant coach.  We agree with that promotion, because she was a camp counselor at HCEC for three summers directing four camps each year.

Ms. Lydia Hinshaw has a lot to share with our riding students and horse owners.  She is also an outstanding role model and accomplished horsewoman.
